Library Skills: Library One Search

On 25th of November, we watched a short video on house to use Library One Search for borrowing and finding reading materials suitable for what we want. Library one search is available on www.library.unimas.my Books and journals are available there for references. Not only books, electronic journals and also online databases are also provided to ease the searching of the information. By using Library One search, we can easily know the location of the books, user's manual, reservation, online renewal and check the status of the material. To use the Library One Search, one have to know few details of the books. These include:
Title of the book
call number

Call number refer to the code that tells you about the location of the PeTARY Collection. This is crucial especially for those who want to borrow the book. Due to the pandemic, we cannot borrow the book physically. But, PeTARY has provide the user with PeTARY loan. There, student and lecturers can borrow the books that is needed. They just need to log in through single id, click new request and fill in the details of the books. One will receive one email saying that the request are still processing and another email to pick up the book. To return, PeTARY has provided a box where they need to put the book inside.

PeTARY library one search also prepare eBooks, E-journal and also online databases to help the student find more information that out from the PeTARY. Numerous resources are available for any discipline and course. Student and lecturer can only view resources that PeTARY subscribe to it.

Student may also access through their library account. In library account, student can access few things:
borrowing records
online renewal
reservation
check fines
User that renew their reservation three times only. Only books with 'checked out' status can be reserved

Some of the books that the user want might not available in PeTARY. So, PeTARY also provide Interlibrary Loan which allow the user to actually borrow the book from the other library. The user need to fill in the same detail in order to borrow the books.
